The apartments

Our stone house “Patriko House”, the interior as well as the exterior, had been in 2018 fully renovated. It has an 8x8m length, a balcony and stairs. 64 sqm is each apartment.

The roomy patio is ideal to enjoy your breakfast in the morning and in the evening to relax with a glass of wine under the lights of the stonewall. You can also enjoy your freshly grilled fish outside on the patio. Our grill is next to the small house in the same yard.

In our house we have two apartments. The apartment downstairs is only 3 steps higher from the yard and the one upstairs you can reach from the exterior stairway. The patio upstairs has a small door to prevent young children from falling.

Both apartments include two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. In the living room there is an extra sleeping space on the sofa. There is also a baby cot for babies and young children up to 15Kg available upon request.

The kitchen is fully equipped and includes coffee maker, water kettle, microwave oven, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator and iron.

In the bathroom you will find a washing machine and a hair dryer. Hot water comes from the solar system on the roof to the bathroom and kitchen.

In the living room there is a big flat screen on the wall. The satellite dish on the roof offers a wide range of international channels.

There is wireless internet as well as english and german books in our library next to the main entrance. Each apartment is equipped with air conditioning and heating.

No Pets allowed! No parties allowed!

Free parking in the yard, for 2 cars.

In each apartment you will find an envelope with information about the best beaches, beach bars and taverns in the area and contact numbers of local restaurants and doctors, in case you need one.

1. Pets are not allowed!
2. Every 4 days you will receive fresh sheets and towels. The towels are to be used inside the apartments and not to be taken to the beach. Thank you for your understanding! We will not enter the apartments during your stay.
3. Under the stairway there is a storeroom with α broom, bucket, mop and an ironing board. The iron is in the kitchen cabinet.
4. Smoking inside the apartments is not allowed.
5. Quiet hours: 15:00-17:30 and 23:00 – 07:00

Location

The stonehouse is 2 minutes away from the bakery and you can reach the nearest supermarket and the center of the village within 3-4 Minutes walking.

When you enter the village you will pass by the health center and two pharmacies. There is also a pediatrician in the area, in case you need one.

Excursions and outdoor activities

In the spring, usually around Good Friday, the first cruises to the Holy mountain “Athos” begin. The harbor “Ormos Panagias” is a 10 Minute drive from Agios Nikolaos.

Greek easter is an important holiday, especially on the night of Good Friday, where people follow a symbolic funeral procession, by carrying candles and icons from the church, together with the bed of Christ, which is decorated with flowers, all around the village. It begins around nine o’ clock. During this procession the priest stops at small churches on the way and prays. It starts from the church, continues to the health center, then to the church of Agia Paraskevi, it passes by the primary school and ends at the center of the village, in the church of Agios Georgios.

Agios Nikolaos is located in the second peninsula of Halkidiki, Sithonia. On a sunny weather you can rent a boat and visit the island Diaporos, which is across from Vourvourou. Everywhere in Sithonia there are lovely sandy beaches with crystal clear waters.

In the spring time as well as in autumn, which lasts from October till December, you can also go on a hike to the mountains. At this time of the season the temperature is not that high and the sunny days are ideal for a hike. From the end of October till the middle of November locals are busy with the olive harvest. During that time the oil press extractors in Agios Nikolaos and Nikiti are opened. People are welcome to watch the procedure of oil pressing.

Since there are two apartments, the stonehouse is ideal for you, if you go on vacation together with another family. The yard can be used either as a play area for children, a place to grill or as parking space for two vehicles.

Leisure time

The nearest beach is just 10 minutes away by car. In a 3-5 minutes walking distance you have the bakery, a supermarket, the butcher’s, a grocery and the central square with cafes, pizza places, patisserie, greek restaurants, ice cream places and fast food.

On Thursdays you can visit the local market with fresh fruits, vegetables, etc, in Agios Nikolaos and on Fridays in Nikiti, a village nearby. The market there has a bigger variety of products and is visited by many locals and tourists.

There can always be unexpected circumstances because of which you can not spend your vacation in our vacation home. If you have to cancel the vacation, the following cancellation fees will apply:

• In case of cancellation up to 30 days before arrival, 30% of the agreed rental price is to be paid
• In case of cancellation up to 3 days before arrival, 80% of the agreed rental price is to be paid
